Mapeera and Amans Beatfication Committee (MABEC)

On the 22nd January 2010, the Archbishop of Kampala, Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga, announced the formation of the committee to coordinate the cause for the beatification of Fr. Simeon Lourdel Mapeera and Bro. Amans Delmas. This committee continues the work which was started in 1987, instituted by the late Cardinal Emmanuel Nsubuga and headed by the late Bishop Joseph Mukwaya.

The committee is made of priests, religious and the laity. It works in close collaboration with the Association of “Mapeera and Amans Beatification Promoters” (MAB-PRO). In fact, many of its members are also members of MAB-PRO. Other close collaborators are the parish priests or their delegates for this particular cause.

The committee follows up all issues concerning this cause, for example, favours and miracles granted through the intercession of Mapeera and Amans, novenas, pilgrimages, etc. Our office is open on Mondays from 9.00am to 5.00pm. On other days, necessary information can be provided by the secretary of Mapeera-Nabunnya Pilgrimage Centre whose office is open from Monday to Saturday.

The committee welcomes suggestions from the faithful in view of a better service to ensure the realisation of the objective of our mission which is the beatification of our ancestors in the faith.
