NB: The Annual pilgrimage on this day to Nabulagala in remembrance of this event has been postponed to the 8th November 2018. : (1868) 150th Anniversary of the foundation of the Society of the Missionaries of Africa (White Fathers) in Algiers, Algeria. : (2014): Beatification of Pope Paul VI by Pope Francis. Pope Paul VI canonised the Uganda Martyrs in 1964 and visited Uganda in 1969 (31st July - 2nd August). He is given the title of “The Pilgrim Pontiff”.

: (2002) Beatification of Daudi Okello and Jildo Irwa, two Ugandan Catechists killed in Northern Uganda (Paimol, Gulu) in 1918. This year we celebrate the CENTENARY of their martyrdom. They were beatified by Pope John Paul II in Rome.
